You can learn Elementor Pro well enough to build and run a complete website in about five focused one-to-one lessons of one hour each. The plan below moves from global styles to the Theme Builder, dynamic content, forms and popups, then WooCommerce and speed, always on your own site. Between lessons you practise one small task, so each session builds on real progress.
- Set global colours and fonts first; it saves hours later.
- The Theme Builder is the biggest reason to buy Elementor Pro.
- Learn forms and popups together, because both are about leads.
- Finish with speed checks so your new design stays fast.
- Practise one task between lessons to lock in each skill.
Who is this Elementor Pro lesson plan for?
Imagine a fitness coach who bought Elementor Pro a year ago and only uses it to change a few headings. He knows it can do far more, but every tutorial seems to start in a different place. This plan is for him, and for anyone who has Elementor Pro, or is about to buy it, and wants a clear order to learn it in.
If you are still deciding whether you need Pro at all, read Elementor Free vs Pro first. The first lesson below works on the free version too.
Lesson 1: How do you set up Elementor the right way?
We start with the settings most people skip. You set your site colours and fonts in Elementor’s global styles, choose sensible container widths and spacing, and build one clean page with containers. Every page you make afterwards inherits these choices, so a later brand change takes minutes instead of days.
Practise before lesson 2: rebuild one existing page using only global colours and fonts.
Lesson 2: How does the Elementor Pro Theme Builder work?
The Theme Builder lets you design the parts of your site that repeat: header, footer, single blog post, archive pages and the 404 page. You then use display conditions to decide where each template appears. This is the feature that turns Elementor from a page builder into a full website builder, as the official Theme Builder guide explains.
In the lesson we build your header and footer together, then a single post template with dynamic tags for the title, featured image, author and date.
Practise before lesson 3: create an archive template for your blog category pages.

Lesson 3: How do you use dynamic content and loop grids?
Dynamic tags pull content from WordPress into your design, so one template can display hundreds of posts, products or portfolio items. We set up a loop item, then a loop grid to show your latest posts or services on the home page. If you use custom fields, we connect those too.
Practise before lesson 4: add a “latest posts” or “featured services” grid to your home page.
Lesson 4: How do you build forms and popups that get leads?
A website that looks good but sends no enquiries is a poster. In this lesson we build a contact or booking form, connect email delivery properly with SMTP so messages do not land in spam, and set up a popup with sensible triggers, such as exit intent or time on page. We also test every form on mobile.
Picture a small clinic that gets three extra appointment requests a week from a well-timed popup. That is the difference this lesson is aiming for.
Practise before lesson 5: send yourself a test from every form and check it arrives.
Lesson 5: How do you keep an Elementor Pro site fast?
Elementor sites can be very fast when they are built carefully. We check your pages with a speed test, remove unused widgets and fonts, size images properly, set up caching and review your Core Web Vitals. If you run a store, we also cover the WooCommerce product page template. For more detail, see how to speed up your Elementor website.
After lesson 5: you have a working site, a recording of every lesson and a checklist to repeat the process on any new page.
What does the full 5-lesson plan look like?
| Lesson | Focus | You leave with |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Global styles and containers | A clean page and site-wide styles |
| 2 | Theme Builder | Header, footer and post template |
| 3 | Dynamic tags and loop grids | Auto-updating post or service grids |
| 4 | Forms, SMTP and popups | Working lead capture |
| 5 | Speed and WooCommerce basics | A fast, checked website |
The plan is a starting point. If you already know the basics, we skip ahead; if you run an online store or a LearnDash course, we swap a lesson for that.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to learn Elementor Pro?
With focused one-to-one lessons, most people can build and manage a full site with Elementor Pro in about five hours of lessons plus practice between sessions. Learning alone usually takes several weeks.
Do I need Elementor Pro to follow this plan?
Lesson 1 works on the free version. Lessons 2 to 4 use Pro features such as the Theme Builder, dynamic tags, loop grids, forms and popups.
Can I learn Elementor Pro on my live website?
Yes. Lessons can happen on your live site or on a staging copy. For bigger changes a staging copy is safer, and a backup is always taken first.
Is Elementor Pro good for SEO?
Yes, when it is set up well. Use one H1 per page, proper heading order, compressed images, caching and an SEO plugin such as Yoast or Rank Math.
What is the most useful Elementor Pro feature?
For most sites it is the Theme Builder, because it lets you design headers, footers and post templates once and apply them across the whole site.
