Elementor Motion Effects add movement: entrance animations (fade, slide, zoom), scrolling effects (vertical and horizontal parallax, transparency, blur, rotate, scale) and mouse effects (track and tilt). Find them in Advanced, Motion Effects. Use them sparingly, never on the first screen’s main heading or hero image, and respect reduced-motion settings, because animations can delay content and hurt speed and accessibility.
- Entrance animations: Advanced, Motion Effects.
- Scrolling and mouse effects need Elementor Pro.
- Do not animate hero content above the fold.
- One or two subtle effects per page is enough.
- Check reduced-motion and mobile behaviour.
Which effects are available?
| Type | Examples | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance | Fade in up, zoom in | Below-the-fold cards and stats |
| Scrolling | Vertical scroll, scale, blur | Subtle depth on images |
| Mouse | Mouse track, 3D tilt | Playful cards on desktop |
| Sticky | Sticky top or bottom | Headers, call bars |

Why can animations hurt your site?
Imagine a homepage where the headline fades in, the photo bounces in and the button slides in. On a slow phone, nothing is visible until the animation script runs, adding seconds to Largest Contentful Paint. Removing animations from the three hero elements on this very site was one of the biggest speed wins. Animate lower sections instead, and keep effects quick and subtle.
How do you use motion well?
- Animate groups, not every widget.
- Keep duration short (fast or normal).
- Disable mouse effects on touch devices.
- Test with reduced motion turned on.
More on performance: WordPress slow on mobile.
